Amid today’s heated political debates, the suffocating atmosphere created by social media, and a culture of immediate gratification, we can sometimes lose track of enduring, fundamental questions. How are we to think? How are human beings, despite the deceits, distractions, and confusions of every age, supposed to find their way to truth? With wit and disarming composure, author Dave Rubin explains in Don’t Burn This Book: Thinking for Yourself in an Age of Unreason how he—a talk show host and comedian—was forced to undertake his own serious quest for truth. A life-long liberal, Rubin found himself no longer able to accept the equivocations, both intellectual and moral, of today’s “wokest” progressives who, he argues, have “replaced the battle of ideas with a battle of feelings.”

Please join us on October 14th at 1:00 PM when MI president Reihan Salam will interview Rubin on why the left has abandoned the battle of ideas, and how Rubin managed on his own to acquire “the tools you need to think for yourself in an age when tribal outrage is the only available alternative.”
