Ron DeSantis’s Big Night

Florida’s governor beat the teachers’ unions at their own game.

If you think Democrats are scared of Florida governor Ron DeSantis now, just wait until they digest the results of Tuesday’s school-board elections in the Sunshine State.

But first some context. For the past two years, progressives and their allies in the legacy news media have tried to use Governor DeSantis’s education agenda to paint him as a reckless extremist. For example, after DeSantis pushed Florida’s schools to reopen for in-person learning during the pandemic, critics dubbed him “Governor Deathsantis.”
