General Stanley McChrystal United States Army (retired); Founder, McChrystal Group

Stanley McChrystal has built a reputation for being a strong leader, an excellent communicator, and a fearless warrior—both on the battlefield and in the board room. A retired four-star general, he is the former commander of U.S. and International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) Afghanistan; former commander of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the nation’s premier military counter-terrorism force; and former commander of several elite organizations, including the 75th Ranger Regiment. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Naval War College, he in 2011 founded McChrystal Group to advise businesses how to succeed in challenging environments.

At a time when escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf, especially between the U.S. and Iran, threaten to disrupt peace and commerce in the region—and the world—McChrystal brings both a business and a military perspective to a dangerous situation. What should be the next move for the U.S. in dealing with Iran?
