The U.S. has a long history of technological innovation that has made certain professions obsolete. The resultant growth, however, has always generated enough jobs to keep most Americans gainfully employed.

Today, some experts fret that the next generation of robots will do permanent damage to the employment prospects of flesh-and-blood human beings. MI senior fellow Mark Mills is not among them. He is also a strategic partner with Cottonwood Venture Partners, an energy-tech venture fund, and an advisory board member of the University of Notre Dame’s Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values.
