As New York City experiments with two approaches to educating disadvantaged children—Renewal Schools and Success Academy Charter Schools—Manhattan Institute scholars have compared the data on each. The results, laid out in the infographic below, are striking. While serving similarly disadvantaged populations, Success Academy students consistently outperform those at Renewal Schools, by a wide margin.
