Manhattan Institute proudly honored Stanley F. Druckenmiller and Ambassador Nikki Haley at the 2018 Alexander Hamilton Award Dinner.

Stanley Druckenmiller is chairman and CEO of Duquesne Family Office. In 1981, he founded Duquesne Capital Management, which he ran until he closed the firm in 2010. He is chairman of the Harlem Children’s Zone, as well as a board member of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Kasparov Chess Foundation, which he cofounded. Mr. Druckenmiller graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in economics and English, and completed Ph.D. coursework in economics at the University of Michigan.

Nikki Haley is U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and a member of President Donald Trump’s National Security Council. Previously she served as the first female and Indian-American governor of South Carolina; as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives; and as president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Ambassador Haley holds a B.S. in accounting from Clemson University.

The Alexander Hamilton Award was created to honor those individuals helping to foster the revitalization of our nation’s cities. We chose to name the award after Hamilton because, like the Manhattan Institute, he was a fervent proponent of commerce and civic life. Through the years, we have expanded the scope of the prize to celebrate leaders not just on the local level, but also at the state and federal levels, who have made remarkable things happen in the realms of public policy, culture, and philanthropy. We hope our celebration of these awardees encourages replication of their efforts.
