Please join us on the evening of Wednesday, July 9th for a special discussion with one of America’s most important legal thinkers.

The Young Leaders Circle is honored to host William “Chip” Mellor, president of the Institute for Justice, who will discuss his new book The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom, an insightful and lucid examination of dangerous trends in modern jurisprudence. Mr. Mellor deftly examines twelve obscure Supreme Court decisions which have enabled government interference in our daily lives. The Dirty Dozen offers a stirring argument for a Supreme Court that will adhere to the Constitution and defend our economic, political, and personal freedom. Mr. Mellor is president, general counsel, and co-founder of the Institute of Justice, a civil liberties law firm devoted to restoring constitutional limits to the powers of government and ending illegal government regulation. He has also led the Institute for Justice to victory in a number of Supreme Court cases to protect economic liberty and school choice.

The Young Leaders Circle will convene on Wednesday, July 9th, from 6 to 8 pm. Please note the change in dates prompted by the Independence Day holiday; the event will not be on July 2nd but on July 9th. Furthermore, remember that this is the last Young Leaders Circle event of the summer and the next event will be held in September.

The Manhattan Institute founded the Young Leaders Circle to provide a forum for metro-NY professionals in their 20s and 30s who are concerned about free-market ideas and public policy. Members are invited to all Young Leaders Circle events and are encouraged to forward the invitation to guests who can attend one event for $45 (which can be applied toward their membership, if they decide to join).

For more information on new or renewal membership, please visit our website
