Young Leaders Circle Group on Facebook

Please join us on February 1st for a special conversation about identity politics with Irshad Manji and John McWhorter. Ms. Manji is the New York Times best-selling author of The Trouble with Islam Today and Allah, Liberty and Love: The Courage to Reconcile Faith and Freedom.  Mr. McWhorter, also a New York Times best-selling author whose books include Losing the Race and Authentically Black, will interview Ms. Manji about the moral courage it takes to think independently rather than collectively about one’s “group.”  Minority groups of various religious and ethnic backgrounds have always been a flash point in American politics; Manji and McWhorter have successfully examined the reasons for this and offered insightful commentary on how to move forward.

The Young Leaders Circle will convene on Wednesday, February 1st, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Harvard Club of New York, 35 West 44th Street, New York. The presentations will begin at 6:45 p.m. sharp. Reception to follow.

The Manhattan Institute launched the Young Leaders Circle to provide a forum for New York metro-area professionals, ages 21 to 40, who are concerned about free-market ideas and public policy. Members are invited to all Young Leaders Circle events and are encouraged to help spread the word. Guests may attend one event for $45 (which will be applied toward membership if they decide to join).

To attend this event, you must r.s.v.p. to secure your seat: email ylc@manhattan-institute.org or call 646-839-3384.

For more information on new or renewal membership, please visit our website www.manhattan-institute.org/youngleaders. Checks and credit cards will be accepted at the door as well.

Sincerely,
