Charles Moore Columnist, The Daily Telegraph

In 2013, Volume I of veteran journalist Charles Moore’s authorized biography of Margaret Thatcher was published to extraordinary reviews both here and in the U.K. Now, Volume II, Margaret Thatcher: At Her Zenith: In London, Washington and Moscow, continues Moore’s unwavering examination of the Iron Lady. The book captures the period between 1982 and 1987 and focuses on Thatcher’s reelection, her relationship with President Ronald Reagan, and her political and personal life at the height of her career.

Personally selected by Thatcher on the condition that the biography would not be published in her lifetime, Moore had unrestricted access to all of her papers and conducted extensive interviews with her as well as her family, friends, and peers (who spoke frankly, knowing she would never read the book). Please join us for this unique and revealing discussion of a most
consequential life.

Charles Moore was born in 1956 and educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he read history. He joined the staff of The Daily Telegraph in 1979, and as a political columnist in the 1980s covered several years of Mrs. Thatcher’s first and second governments. He was editor of The Spectator from 1984 to 1990; editor of The Sunday Telegraph
from 1992 to1995; and editor of The Daily Telegraph from 1995 to 2003, for which he is still a regular columnist.
