1) Non-cash income is based on Census Bureau valuations provided in the CPS of the following: employer contribution for health insurance, market value of housing subsidy, market value of food stamps, market value of school lunch, fungible value of Medicare, fungible value of Medicaid, and the amount of energy assistance.

2) Taxes paid include federal income tax, state income tax and Social Security payroll tax. We use the estimates provided in the CPS.
