A Conversation with Paul E. Singer
Paul E. Singer
Dear YLC Members,
I hope you will be able to join us for our event on Wednesday, July 10th featuring a conversation with Paul E. Singer, founder of Elliott Management Corporation and chairman of the Manhattan Institute’s board of trustees, and Dan Senor, an American writer and political adviser. Mr. Senor will interview Mr. Singer on a broad range of topics, including the economy, finance, public policy, and philanthropy.
Paul E. Singer is the founder and president of Elliott Management Corporation. A New York–based trading firm, Elliott Management was launched in 1977 with $1 million of capital. Today, total assets under management for Elliott funds have grown to approximately $21 billion. Elliott also has affiliated offices in London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. The Wall Street Journal has recognized Elliott for its early forecasting of the systemic economic crisis of 2008. The New York Times has written that “of all the hedge fund managers on Wall Street, Paul E. Singer is one of the most revered.”
Dan Senor is a senior adviser at Elliott Management Corporation, a New York–based global investment fund. During the 2012 election cycle, he served as senior adviser to the Romney-Ryan campaign. Dan’s most recent government position was in the administration of George W. Bush, where he served as chief spokesman and senior adviser to the Coalition in Iraq. His analytical pieces have been published by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Washington Post, Weekly Standard, and Time. He co-authored Start-Up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, a New York Times Business Bestseller.
Please note: this event will be co-hosted with the Institute’s Adam Smith Society, whose members hail from top U.S. business schools around the country. For more information about the Adam Smith Society, please visit our website: www.adamsmithsociety.com.
