THE FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY featuring: Mark Mills Dear Members, Happy New Year! I hope you are all enjoying the holidays. The YLC kicks off 2013 on Wednesday, January 9th with Mark Mills—senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute—who will lecture on the future of technology as it relates to important policy issues, in particular the impact of the Big Data revolution on everything from energy and the economy, to health care and job growth. Mills is the founder and CEO of the Digital Power Group, a tech-centric capital advisory group, and a member of the Advisory Board of Northwestern University’s Engineering School. He is the co-author with MI senior fellow Peter Huber of The Bottomless Well: The Twilight of Fuel, The Virtue of Waste, And Why We Will Never Run Out of Energy (2005) and has been featured in various popular publications, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Mills’ most recent work with the Institute’s Power & Growth Initiative was featured in the Romney-Ryan energy platform. I very much hope you will be able to join us. Please RSVP for this event by Monday, January 7th. If you are bringing a guest(s), you must RSVP for them by this time, as well. |

The Manhattan Institute launched the Young Leaders Circle to provide a forum for New York metro-area professionals, ages 21 to 40, who are interested in free-market ideas and public policy. Members are invited to all Young Leaders Circle events and are encouraged to help spread the word. Guests may attend one event for $45 (which will be applied toward membership if they decide to join). Very much looking forward to seeing everyone, Suggested Reading:
